Using delayed push notifications (via Messaging) as reminders

An example of how a company has been able to develop a time management iPhone app featuring task and appointment reminders. The mechanism of delayed messages of Messaging module API has been used. The application sends an API call to set up a push notification for a specific date and time for every time a user creates a task or appointment. The server waits until the time comes and sends the required push notification. Custom sounds and badge counter are supported via Messaging module API.
